Lilo and Stitch Anime by jackfreak1994 Lilo and Stitch Anime by jackfreak1994

This is my second time ever trying to draw in anime style, and man is it hard. I tried my best, so for anyone who is a fan of anime I really hope that my attempt in the style was ok.

Lilo and Stitch (C) :iconalohalilo:

I'm pretty sure you know that Japan remade Lilo and Stitch once before. As for this though, I think it's cute! The eyes are very simple like Shoujo art, but when it comes to anime style, you can tell age by the body depending on the style. Here, it looks like maybe she's twelve in regular Shoujo? If that was what you were going for, it's cute! If you did chibi, you can never tell what the age is until they announce it. Try looking up different styles and seeing which you'd like for this. I'm pretty sure occult wouldn't work here unless you did a halloween theme. I could see stitch as a furry, but I like him how he is. I think looking at a Shoujo book might help, maybe throw a little of Lilo's love for spooky things in, or throw scrumph in there? That's all up to you. Other then that, it's beautiful and I enjoy it. ^^

Vision: It's very easy to tell what this is and it isn't blurry and it doesn't have any unstable-looking lines. The color is perfect. It is very beautiful. (By the way, it would probably be a good idea to not have the part on the dress that almost looks like fur. At least, that's how I draw fur.)
Originality: Since this is technically from a TV show, it's not the most original. Evenso, I've never seen it exactly like this before, so that gets some points. Plus, the show isn't running anymore, I don't think, so not many people are drawing this sort of stuff.
Technique: The lines here don't "flow" a lot, but that will happen when you leave the sketch lines. It could be perceived as messy. It leaves a feeling of it being drawn, which isn't a bad thing, unless you want for it to look a bit like a vector. There is no shading or overall outlining, which could be used to make it look better than it is.
Impact: The piece doesn't have any life lesson or anything, but most do not. I thought it was interesting that Lilo looked older here than she does in the actually show. Stitch looks so much like a puppy; so loyal, peaceful, and content with his situation. It's adorable.
Overall: Overall I give this picture 4-4.5 stars. It is very well done and looks almost exactly like in the TV show. The picture really shows the characters' love and the connection between them, which makes it a fairly advanced piece of art. Well done!
